Co-Managed IT Services

Augment your internal IT with ECS — depth, coverage and security, not a takeover.

How It Works

Many Houston organizations keep an IT lead or small in-house team—and still need depth for security, cloud, voice, and after-hours coverage. Co-managed IT is a partnership: you retain strategy and day-to-day ownership where it makes sense; we provide defined services, shared tooling, and senior engineers when issues exceed your bench.

We document roles, escalation paths, and change windows so there is no ambiguity. Typical co-managed scopes include patch and monitoring overlap, vulnerability assessment cadence, Microsoft 365 and Azure hygiene, backup and disaster recovery testing, and project delivery for network, cabling, or migration work.

Key Benefits

  • Clear RACI-style ownership between your staff and ECS
  • Access to security assessments and vCIO planning without a full outsource
  • 24/7 options for monitoring and alerting layered on your stack
  • Flexible hours for projects that do not fit internal capacity

Co-Managed IT Services — common questions

How does ownership work between our IT team and ECS?
We document responsibilities RACI-style during onboarding: who owns identity, endpoints, network, backups, vendors, and escalations. Your team keeps the areas where they are strong; ECS covers depth, after-hours, and specialty work. Ambiguity is the failure mode of co-managed IT, so we remove it in writing.
Do we have to use your tools, or can you work in ours?
Both models work. Many co-managed clients adopt ECS tooling for monitoring, patching, and documentation; others keep incumbent tools where switching costs outweigh benefits. We agree on the stack during discovery so licensing and access are clean.
When does co-managed IT make sense over fully managed?
When you have at least one capable internal IT person who is stretched thin—too much ticket volume, no bench for projects, or no security depth. Co-managed keeps their institutional knowledge while adding coverage. If IT leadership itself is the gap, pairing co-managed delivery with vCIO planning usually fits better.
